HOW TO BECOME A CONTRACT RECRUITER

Are you seeking information on becoming a Contract Recruiter? The article on Guidelines for Hiring a Contract Recruiter will help get you started.

In addition to edlawrence.com, here are several sites I recommend you visit:

forcontractrecruiters.com
Profession specific. Good general info site with directories of contractors and brokers. Interesting and fairly lengthy FAQ. Has an "Ask the Expert" feature. Useful site.

nolo.com
Great reference site to help sort through the legalese of contracting -- for both buyers and sellers. Books and forms that will help you.

If you are new to contract recruiting, or experienced yet find the marketing aspects daunting, you might want to contact the HR Consulting firms listed below.  They use contract recruiters for sub-contract opportunities and offer rates that are more competitive, professional, and on par with "professional scale."  Many have been around for years, have a national client base, and offer rates that are a great alternative to the insultingly below scale offerings of commodity-like firms Spherion, Manpower, Futurestep, and other former administrative, temporary, or contingency placement companies. Here are some I like that also seem to enjoy good reputations.

Ossanna Consulting
2775 Algonquin Road, Suite 260
Rolling Meadows, IL 60008
(847) 255-2800

The Wellington Group
316 Franklin Street
Geneva, IL 60134
(630) 262-2000

The Geiger Group
17610 Midway Road, Suite 134 MS 302
Dallas, TX 75287
(972) 407-0933

HR Connections & Consulting, Inc.
602 Gettysburg Place
Dunwoody, GA 30350
(770) 992-3701

There are also contract recruiter networking groups on Yahoo.Com wherein leads are shared and the profession is discussed. You might find the group, ContractRecruiterJobs of some interest. Check it out at http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/ContractRecruiterJobs/

If questions remain after visiting these sites, feel free to contact me via use of this contact form.

I will add other helpful information to this page as it is discovered and is personally reviewed. If you have a site or reference that you feel others would benefit from viewing, please use the contact form to inform me.

Visit often. This is a work in progress!
